Product Description: (Book and 2 Audio Tapes).More than at any time in the past, Roman Catholics & Evangelicals are working together. This newfound rapport has caused many to question the age-old disagreements that have divided Protestants and Catholics and ask, "Do the differences still matter?" This special radio offer includes the book, The Roman Catholic Controversy, which is an absorbing look at current views of tradition and Scripture, the Papacy, the Mass, Purgatory, indulgences, and Marian doctrine. James White affirms that evangelicals and Catholics share common ground on some points. Yet there are crucial differences that remain regarding the Christian life - and the heart of the Gospel itself - that cannot be ignored.

specialSpecials: Receive the 2 tape interview from the Bible Answer Man broadcast with James White and Catholic apologist Tim Staples.

About Author: James White is the Director of Alpha and Omega Ministries. He co-founded Alpha and Omega in 1983 along with Michael Beliveau. At the time James was a student at Grand Canyon College in Phoenix, Arizona. The previous year, shortly after his marriage to Kelli, he had encountered two LDS missionaries, Elders Reed and Reese. In the ensuing conversations, James had realized that there was much he didn't know about what Mormons believed, and much he needed to know about his own beliefs as well. This began an in-depth study of the teachings of Mormonism, but more importantly, a more in-depth study of his own beliefs. (bio updated 2004)
